Two weeks ago, we decided to celebrate Roadmap’s new website launch by hosting a fancy company dinner. I took the liberty of picking an Amsterdam steak house, ensuring unlimited Heinekens for everyone. With two things I absolutely love – steak and beers – what could possibly go wrong? Well, this: it turns out I was being an idiot. Why? Ten of our twenty-five employees are vegetarians, fifteen do not drink alcohol, and those who do enjoy liquor prefer the special beers from brewery ‘t IJ – the city’s most hip and happening beer hotspot. Should I have checked with them and listened, I would have known all this. But I had been too busy saving money.
Lesson learned: listen to your employees and make sure the things you procure are valued and used. Otherwise, you will spend loads of time and money on making people miserable.
Tailor your travel program to individual preferences!
Suppose you have a 100-million-dollar travel program. How can you possibly know what to procure – and for whom? Sure, you will have to spend money on airline tickets, hotels, transportation, and food for your travelers. But wouldn’t it be great to know their individual preferences, so you can tailor your program to them while saving money? “That’s impossible!” you exclaim. We get you. And yet we beg to differ.
Roadmap is a travel platform that personalizes travel programs within your company’s context.
With our help, large companies with comprehensive travel programs can guide, assist, and take care of their travelers while they’re on the road. First, we analyze their travel behavior. A little heads up the outcome may surprise you. At one of our biggest customers, jaws collectively dropped when we shared our analysis results. (And currently, they are working on major program changes.)
Subsequently, we implement your corporate travel policy and company guidelines, combining them with your road warriors’ personal preferences. Voila: you’ve got your personalized travel program right there. And the best part is, it is fully branded to your company. Awesome, right?
Now, employees know the decisions they can make within your program guidelines. The result: increased productivity, less travel time, and – therefore – hard dollar savings.
