Press Release: For Immediate Release
Global manufacturer ITW has chosen Roadmap, the award-winning Dutch travel management platform, to deliver a simple, fluid and efficient experience to its valued business travelers.
Cathy Sharpe, Director, Strategic Sourcing, Global Travel & Expense Management Services at ITW, says: “At the moment, the business travel experience is fragmented. It is like being in the middle of a maze and our travelers must go to a number of different places for their travel needs.”
As a mobile-first start up, Roadmap is improving the entire corporate traveler journey. The app is fully customized, available in the cloud and unifies live trip data sources with personal and corporate preferences. It brings contextual services to travelers so they have everything they need at their fingertips – from flight times to best places to eat on a travel allowance and emergency assistance advice. Sharpe explains: “The Roadmap white label app will glue all our programs together putting everything they need while traveling at their fingertips.”
As a sizable global organization with numerous locations and a decentralized business model, communicating travel policy at ITW can be challenging. “Roadmap will allow us to share all the opportunities of our program in an efficient way, giving our travelers strategic freedom within a framework,” she adds.
At ITW, travel management sits within procurement but safety and security is paramount, and so an added bonus is that emergency assistance will sit within the Roadmap app. “Every new employee will receive the app as part of the onboarding process, giving us an instant view of one of the most important parts of our travel programme,” Sharpe explains.
Roadmap has a diverse and growing customer base of blue-chip clients. Among these are Microsoft, Nike, KPMG, Akzonobel, ITW, Pfizer, LinkedIn and Tommy Hilfiger. “We understand,” says Roadmap CEO Jeroen van Velzen, “that the goals of every company are different”.
For example, Microsoft’s objective was to give two hours in every trip back to its valued employees. At consultancy firm KPMG, time is money and the core goal was to reduce the number of clicks so that travelers had more time to engage with clients. Meanwhile, Nike’s priority was all about putting employee health and wellbeing first.
“Whatever the culture of the organization, travel managers have a tough job striking the right balance between keeping travelers happy and productive, while containing costs. We know that this is possible and we are looking forward to working with ITW to take its travel management program to the next level,” Van Velzen says.
